Hexagram tarot positions and reading order
Tarot Card Positions and Reading Order
Our arrangement places cards clockwise from the top: past, present, near future, guidance, environment and your approach. The seventh card sits in the center as a possible outcome. This is one declared reading method, not a claim that every hexagram tradition uses the same order.
Connecting the Tarot Positions to Your Question
Compare past and present before reading the near future as a conditional direction. Guidance and your approach work together: one offers a perspective, the other asks how you will respond. The center summarizes the pattern without canceling details in the outer cards.
A seven-card hexagram example
For “How can I return to a creative practice?”, imagine Four of Cups, Page of Wands, Eight of Pentacles, Temperance, Three of Cups, The Magician and The World. This example connects a period of disinterest to curiosity and regular practice. Support from friends and the tools already available suggest finishing one modest piece, rather than waiting for inspiration to solve everything.
If the center is difficult, do not redraw to obtain reassurance. Ask which specific condition could be changed and note what remains unknown.
Hexagram tarot is different from the I Ching
The star-shaped layout describes where tarot cards are placed. It does not calculate a six-line I Ching hexagram. Choose the I Ching experience separately if you want that distinct system; keep its questions and interpretation method separate.
The cards offer a perspective. The choice remains yours.
