How to Choose a Tarot Spread
One-Card and Three-Card Tarot Positions
The table previews 16 arrangements, from one card to thirteen. Inspect the positions before beginning. A single card can focus attention; three cards can connect a situation with guidance and a next step. A larger spread is useful only when its additional positions have distinct jobs.
Preview a Tarot Spread Before Drawing
The selected arrangement opens the reading flow with that spread. The preview helps you understand the structure before entering a question, so the interface can remain an action you choose rather than a form you must immediately complete.
Tarot Spreads for Decisions, Themes and Time
The two-options spread uses five cards and the three-options spread uses seven, giving each path paired positions. The yearly spread uses four life areas. Year-ahead uses 13 cards: one theme plus 12 months. The Celtic Cross uses ten positions for a more detailed contextual reading.
For example, choose the monthly spread if you want early, middle and late stages of a project. Choose the two-options spread if you want to compare practicing alone with joining a group. The best arrangement follows the question rather than the desire to draw more cards.
Three-Card Tarot Spread Example
For restarting a hobby, Four of Cups as present, Eight of Pentacles as guidance and Page of Wands as next step could suggest moving from disengagement through practice toward a small experiment. Check whether that interpretation fits your actual situation before choosing an action.
