How to Use Claude for a Manual Tarot Reading
This guide explains how to bring your own tarot draw into a conversation with Claude. TarotArt does not currently offer a Claude connector, extension or account integration. You can type the cards yourself; no link between the two services is required.
Decide on the spread before drawing. A simple TarotArt three-card reading uses Present, Guidance and Next Step. Write down the exact names and whether each card is upright or reversed so the conversation starts from a stable record.
Using Claude Prompts with a Fixed Tarot Draw
A Claude Tarot Prompt with Cards and Question Context
“Act as a reflective tarot discussion partner. My question is [question]. The spread positions and cards are: Present — [card and orientation]; Guidance — [card and orientation]; Next Step — [card and orientation]. Explain the symbolism in this context, connect the positions and offer two plausible readings. Do not invent extra cards or assert private thoughts as facts. Finish with one question for me.”
For example, Three of Wands, Four of Pentacles reversed and Queen of Pentacles might connect exploration, loosening control and practical care. That is one possible interpretation, not evidence of a specific event. Supply the circumstances that make the question meaningful, such as the decision or time frame you are actually considering.
How to Ask Claude Follow-ups About the Same Tarot Cards
Ask “Which part of this interpretation depends on an assumption?” or “How would this reading change if my main constraint were time rather than money?” Remind the model to keep the same cards and positions. If it introduces a card you did not draw, correct the record.
Do not interpret repeated confident wording as additional evidence. If the answer is too broad, request an example tied to your situation and a clear distinction between symbolism and observable facts.
Save a reading you can revisit
Keep the original question, cards, orientation, interpretation and your own reaction together. Note one action and revisit it after enough time has passed to learn something. The value of the record is seeing how your perspective changed, not collecting predictions until one appears correct.
